Arrival and Dismissal Times

7:00 AM: The school building opens. Please do not drop off your child before the building opens.

7:00 AM – 7:25 AM: Breakfast is served free of charge to all students, every day.

7:35 AM: The instructional school day begins. Any student arriving on campus after 7:35 AM is tardy.

3:10 PM – 3:45 PM: Dismissal begins and concludes.

Morning Drop-Off Procedures

Students may be dropped off at the front of the school, beginning at 7:00 AM. Please do not drop off your child before that time. Any parent who is dropping off their student(s) at 7:35 AM or later will need to park their car and come inside to sign them in. It is very important for students to be on time and ready to learn in the morning, so they will benefit greatly from their full day of instruction. Thank you in advance for supporting your child’s education!

Dismissal Procedures

The scheduled dismissal time for Jones Elementary is 3:10 PM. If your child’s method of transportation needs to be changed, please send a note to your child’s teacher. If you forget to send a note, please call the office no later than 2:30 PM. Without a written note or oral communication to the front office, changes will not be made to the child’s method of transportation.

Building Security

Please bring a current driver’s license or photo ID each time you visit our school. You will need to use your ID to check in at the front entrance to receive your visitor’s badge. A badge is required for classroom or lunchroom visits, checking out students, and parent/teacher conferences. Please be advised that everyone is required to pass through a metal detector and have all bags inspected prior to being granted entrance onto the premises.

Dress Code Guidelines

Jones Elementary does not have a standardized uniform, however, please check the Aldine ISD Policies Website for dress code requirements. Mesh or clear backpacks are strongly recommended.

Friday Folders

Your child will bring a weekly folder home every Friday afternoon. A conduct report and graded assignments from the week’s lessons will be found inside the folder. Please discuss the graded work and the conduct report with your child. If you or your child have any questions about his/her progress, please contact your child’s teacher.

Lost and Found

Does your child have a missing item? Stop by our Lost and Found. We have an enormous amount of student clothing in our Lost & Found, which is located on the stage. Please stop by during business hours (7:00 AM – 4:00 PM) to collect your child’s lost clothing items/belongings. All clothing not collected by the end of the spring semester will be donated to Goodwill Industries.

Mesh or Clear Backpacks are Strongly Recommended

Aldine ISD strongly recommends that the students utilize mesh or clear backpacks.
