FACE Department
The Family and Community Engagement (FACE) Department was created in 2020 with the purpose of finding ways to engage with the families of the district, while also empowering parents to become more active with their children’s education. The district believes that families are a child’s first teacher. Families are the frontline of our community efforts. When parents are co-partners in their child’s education, it is clear that the students we serve get better grades, increase their social skills, and are more likely to go on and achieve their higher goals.
Family Engagement is a full, equal, and equitable partnership among families, educators, and community partners to promote children’s learning and development from birth through college and career. With an active FACE department, everyone wins – including educators, students, and families alike.
Our Commitment to Families
Our Parent and Family Engagement Policy (English and Spanish links) is developed with input from families and explains how the school will support families with their child’s learning.
Our Title I School-Parent Compact (English and Spanish links) is developed with input from families and outlines the commitment of the school staff, family, and student to share responsibility for student learning and achievement. Student achievement goals are shared in this Compact.
In accordance with the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA), every parent of a student in a Title I school has the right to request and receive information in a timely manner regarding the professional qualifications of your students’ classroom teachers and/or paraprofessionals. Ms. Charlotte Wynn-Scott is the FACE Liaison for our campus and is fully focused on helping families. She helps the school communicate with the FACE Department and assists our campus through various trainings and events that aim to help students with their academic lives, well-being, community involvement, and continuing education. She also helps to communicate the various tools and benefits FACE provides, as well as assisting with events FACE has planned for the campus.
